Due to severe allergies among the students at NCS, the school requires that everyone avoid bringing any items with nut products, eggs that are not baked into an item or animals to the school.   Our students' health depends on your cooperation.  Thank you.

 

IMPORTANT!!!

If your child has a medical condition that requires prescription medication be administered by school staff (such as an

 epi pen, etc) please fill out the form that will be sent home to parents of flagged students.  If you should have received a form for your child and didn't receive one, please contact the school office.  Thank you!

 

VOLLEYBALL

The Neilburg volleyball teams are beginning their seasons.  Practices have already begun and our athletes are working hard and learning lots.  Both of our Senior teams will be beginning their tournament schedules this weekend. Good luck to all of our teams this year!

 

SENIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball season has officially started! The Sr. Girls are off to St. Walburg this weekend to face Hillmond in round 1. Miss Bannerman and Tanner Carlton are coaching this year's team of 13. What a great turnout!

STUDENT ABSENCES                                                                                                                    

Parents please notify the school if your child is going to be absent.  Parents will receive an automated phone call for any unexcused absences.

STUDENT REGISTRATION FORMS                                                                                    

Please review and return the student registration forms that were sent home last week.  It is very important that information is checked for accuracy and any new information regarding emergency contacts, phone numbers health issues be noted.

 

 

Junior Girls Volleyball - Coach: Ms. Chammartin

The Neilburg Junior Girls Volleyball players will have 2 teams this year.  The TRIPLE BALL team will be comprised of Emma H., Teryn, Kailee, Emily, Sara, Katie, Kianna and Justine and will play on Tuesdays.  The JUNIOR team will be comprised of Tirzah, Shana, Kaylee, Taylor, Ashtyn, Emma B., Taeya, and McKenna and will play on Thursdays.  Both teams will practice together on Wednesdays from 3:15-5:00.

NO MAGAZINES being sold by NCS

The S.R.C. has decided to not participate in this year's QSP magazines. We'd like to thank everyone that has supported this initiative over the past years.

FUEL GOOD DAY

The Co-op has asked Neilburg Composite School to participate in their Fuel Good Day.

We are looking for 5 volunteers to help out with this event from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 18th at the Highway 17 South Co-op gas bar in Lloydminster.  If you can help out  please contact the school  (306-823-4313)

Proceeds from this BBQ will go to our school for student activities! 

 

TERRY FOX WALK/RUN

The students will be taking part in our annual Terry Fox Walk on Friday, Sept. 28.

We have been running this event since 1983 and have raised around $40,000 in total over these years!  K-5 students will be sent home a pledge form to collect pledges.  If you do not wish to collect pledges or make a donation, please return the blank form to the classroom teacher.  Any student bring in a pledge will have their name put in for a draw for a Terry fox t-shirt!  As well refreshments will be provided to the participants by the Synergy Credit Union.

 

PARENTS of GRADE 6 students - Ms. Chammartin

 

As part of the PAA 6 sewing unit, the students are being asked to purchase their own fabric to make a pillowcase.  Information sheets were sent home with the details, but I have included the information below:

 

List of supplies for pillowcases:

 

1 piece of 100 percent cotton fabric, minimum 10inches x 42inches SOLID in colour (to match decorative fabric).

1 piece of 100 percent cotton fabric, minimum of 1 1/2inches x 41 inch strip of tone on tone or solid colour, different from previous solid colour (but to match).

1 piece of 100 percent cotton fabric, minimum of 26 1/2 inches x 41 inches DECORATIVE in colour.

1 spool of polyester thread to match. Minimum of 100 yards.

STUDENT FEES

Student fee notices are automatically sent to each parent when they sign up for SchoolCash online.  We encourage you to pay for them online but if you do not want to do that, please sign up anyway as that way you will get the notifications of student fees, hot lunches, new yearbook arrival, etc. etc.

Notices for unpaid fees will be sent out with the first report cards or at a parent's request. 

 

 

 

 

SCHOOL BOOTH

The school booth is now stocked with lots of lunch and snack items as well as the many items that are in our vending machine.  The elementary students come down to the booth shortly before the bell rings to purchase their lunch items.  Milk cards can be purchased online or from the school office for $10 for 8 milk.

Milk – chocolate or white  $1.25

Bottled water or juice boxes - .75

Frozen treats - $1.00

Flavoured popcorn - $2.00

Nachos and cheese - $.250

Subs – small $3.50; large $6.00

Beef Jerky - $1 or $1.25

Chips - $1.00

A variety of 50 cent items which changes as supplies are available – cookies, wagon wheels, crackers & cheese, puddings, bear paws, granola bars, cheese strings.

Students from grade 5-12 are asked to help work in the booth.  All profits made to towards student field trips and other activities.

FRAUD AWARENESS                                                                                                          

The Synergy Credit Union – Neilburg Branch is holding a Fraud Awareness Session on Wednesday, October 3 from 2:00-4:00 pm.  Special Guests:  Patty Wang, Manager of Risk at Synergy Credit Union;  CutKnife RCMP.. Everyone welcome to attend.  Refreshments provided.

 

Jonathan's Guitar Lessons

Hello, my name is Jonathan Gonzales, for the last two years I have been teaching guitar In the community. Last year I also began teaching vocals. I have been playing guitar for 12 years, and started imparting my knowledge to others 9 years ago. I plan to continue teaching in the fall starting in September, in and during school. Friday Night Youth - Sept 14th - Soccer Night and outdoor games at the Koedyk's 7pm-10pm. Rides from the church leaving at 6:45!

 

 

Neilburg Figure Skating Club meeting on Wednesday Sept 12 at 7pm at the arena! We are in need of a coach and board members...if we get those we will have registration after the meeting...hope to see as many as possible to keep skating lessons going in our community!

 

BUSINESS ADVERTISEMENTS – PAID ADVERTISEMENTS                              

If your business would be interested in putting a paid advertisement in the school newsletter, please contact Cathy at the school (306-823-4313).  The newsletters go out weekly (usually Wednesday).  Any ads would have to be into the school by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.  The school email is ncs@nwsd.ca, the fax is 306-823-4403 or you can drop them off.  The cost is $10 per advertisement per week.  *As usual our community announcements will be published free of charge.
