VILLAGE OF NEILBURG NEWS

The grade 3 class initiated this project using Local Government as a jumping off point to learn how to write letters. The Village of Neilburg Council were presented with "persuasive" letters at their regular meeting in the fall.

All nine individual letters requested a skate park, except for one sweet girl wanting a petting zoo. As the majority was for a skate park, the Village of Neilburg Council wants to proceed with a skate park project. Council is working along with the grade 3 class to have the children involved in as many aspects as possible. The future of our youth, and interaction with them is so very beneficial to our communities to continue to have resources for all ages.

We have a beautiful space in the Village Green Park for the skate park and have high hopes to start the project this spring. The estimated cost is $107,000.00, completed. The equipment is $70,000.00 and the 2500 square foot cement pad will be approximately $37,000.

The Grade 3 class has undertaken fundraising towards the project as they want to contribute. Each student is creating and hosting an initiative to spread the word and raise monies towards the project, watch for upcoming fundraising events.

Let us all contribute towards getting the youth outside, we have a need for activities to be available to families with young to teen children.

All contributions are accepted at the Village of Neilburg office, and official tax receipts are available.

Watch for our progress thermometers that will be posted at various locations!
