2012 Robotics Club

Once again, the Neilburg Robotics club will be challenging the province at the sport of robotic mini-sumo. The club will be open to Grade 9-12 students and will start up in the beginning of December.

 

2011 Robotics Club

On March 24th, the Robotics Club attended the Provincial SIAST myRobotRumble event in Saskatoon. Once again, NCS had a lot of success at the popular event. This year their were 120 teams from across the province.

Teams were placed in pools of ten robots for a round robin tournament. The top two from each pool advanced to the playoff round. The rest of the robots advance to a single knockout consolation round.

5th in Pool #11 (13 Points), Top 16 in Consolation Round

Team S.A.M.R.O.D.: Dustin & Kasey
5th in Pool #3 (11 Points), Top 96 in Consolation Round

Team Cyberdyne: Reed & Tanner
7th in Pool #4 (9 Points), Top 64 in Consolation Round

Team Dozer: Brandon & Jonah
7th in Pool #7 (8 Points), Top 96 in Consolation Round

Team Monte: Chad, Eli, Shawn
9th in Pool #10 (6 Points), Top 32 in Consolation Round

Planning is also underway for the Grade 11 & 12 roboteers to travel to Calgary in May for the Western Canadian Robot Games.

Neilburg Students Win Robot Design Competition

On Thursday, March 25th, four teams of roboteers traveled to Saskatoon to compete in a sumo-robot competition at SIAST.  Sixty-two teams from across northern Saskatchewan met to battle their autonomous robots against others in sumo-style matches. The students have been working on these robots in Plus Time since December and finally had a chance to put them to the test… with great success!
