Introducing Paradise Hill School
Paradise Hill School serves the areas from Red Cross to the north, North Saskatchewan River to the south, Highway 21 to the east and the Alberta border to the west. The student population is approximately 260 with 25 full and part-time staff. Character education and the Virtue Program are two recent initiatives which are very successful. Paradise Hill School provides a rich and caring environment where all have the opportunity to learn and develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically..
Events and Programs
Paradise Hill supports the inclusion of technolgy in all divisions. Interactively, we have more than 8 SmartBoards and Projectors with sound systems in every room. In support of the technolgy the staff has access to a Technology Integration Lead, Rob Stewart.
The students have access to two complete computer labs and at least one computer in each classroom. In addition to these two complete rooms, there is a mini computer lab in the resource centre.
Online we subscribe to many educational resources including:
- Mathletics K-9
- Accelerated Reading K-8
- United Streaming K-12
- the Real Game 6-12
- Maplewood
Athletics
We are pleased to offer a variety of athletics as part of our course content and extensively through extra-curricular teams. The five sports cover the entire years schedule and give plenty of opportunities to keep yourself involved. Participation numbers are very high and the teams have been very successful at local, regional, and provincial levels. The successes of the teams and athletes are showcased with banners in the gymnasium.
Arts
We are a very artistic community and school. Extra-curricular groups include drama, elementary drama, elementary choir, a senior rock band, an acoustic guitar club, and a performance dance team. There are a number of showcases including two senior drama shows, the second is in preparation for the regional drama festival, the Strings Night, a formal night of acoustic music, and the Artastic showcase of performing arts including the elementary drama club and the senior band.

The first show of the year, "Early Frost" will take place at Thursday, December 1st. Doors open at 6:00. Desert theatre and show. Admission $5.00. AAA Provincial Volleyball
Congratulations to the Senior Boys for winning a bronze medal in a third place finish at provincials in Munster. They had a very exciting tournament, finishing second in their pool, and continued there excellent team play.
Congratulations to the Senior Girls with Coach Ryan Woznesensky and Assistant Coach Vicki Kretzer for finishing second at the regional championships and qualifying for the Provincials at home. Thank you to St. Walburg school for their support in hosting this event. The girls fought very hard to finish third in their pool. They defeated Macklin in a very pivotal match to get this placing. They went on to finish 5th, which is the best finish in the history of the school!

Academic Integrity
Honesty, responsibility and the pursuit of truth are values that we in the public system must pursue. We expect academic integrity from all students. Cheating, in whatever form, is ultimately destructive to their values and is unfair and discouraging to students who pursue their studies honestly
School News by Email
We have adopted a new format for the weekly news. First of all, it will only be coming out bi-monthly, as there were too many events carrying over causing confusion. It is also in the works to create an online and email based newsletter. Let us know if you would like to recieve the newsletter by email.
