2011 Senior Girls AAA Volleyball Team

Information

Congratulations on qualifying for the Provincials. Welcome to our school and community. The rooms will be available at 11:30 for the first five teams that will be playing at Paradise Hill on Friday and throughout the day for the Saturday teams. The coaches meeting will start at 11:00. Opening ceremonies is set to begin at 11:45. Each team will be assigned a host to answer any questions they may have about the event and the community and will lead each team into the gym and direct them where to stand. There will be a canteen set up for the entire event. There is a confectionary that has a sub bar and some soups, etc as well as a restaurant that offers chinese and american food if you feel like getting away from the gym for a while. The competitions will take place in two schools. Our gym will be the primary location. The second location will be at St. Walburg school. It takes about 15 minutes to go between towns.

We will provide oranges, water, granola bars, and tickets for milk in all the coaches packages. Please take your oranges and granola bars with you when you leave the room. Remind the players to have their passes, participation ribbons, to enter the gym if they are not in uniform.

 

Schedule and Events

All games must start by 1:00 on Friday November 18th.

The opening ceremonies will take place at Paradise Hill School. Starting as soon as the coaches meeting is done. This should be around 11:45. This will leave time for teams to get to assigned games and locations. The last games on Friday will be at 7:30. The pools will finish at 11:15 on Saturday with play-offs to follow.

Supper

There will be a team supper provided for all teams and coaches Friday night from 5:00 - 7:00 in Paradise Hill. We realize that schedules make it impossible for all teams to eat at the same time.

The Saskatchewan Milk Marketing Board provides a sufficient amount of Milk for all competitors.  This is part of a sponsorship agreement between the SHSAA and the Saskatchewan Milk Marketing Board. There will be milk tickets in the team packages. 

Admissions

Admission must be charged at the tournament. The rates are $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for students in grades 7-12, children are admiited FREE. This is a PER DAY CHARGE. Complimentary Admission: The current SHSAA Coaches Card will be honoured as an admission pass.  Also, each participant will receive an SHSAA participation ribbon. The participation ribbon is non-transferable and should be honoured as complimentary admission.  Coaches and Athletes must present their participation ribbon at the gate entrance or they will be asked to pay admission.

Sportsmanship Award

The SHSAA will award a sportsmanship banner to one team for each category, boys and girls. It is recommended that the responsibility for judging be shared by a committee made up of representatives of the host tournament committee, representation from the officials that work the tournament and the representative of the SHSAA.  The observations of this committee will be used to determine the school displaying the best sportsmanship at the event. See the memo included in this guidebook re: judging “Good Sports are Winners” and the observation form.  Please submit a list of 3 potential winners of the Award to the SHSAA office.NO other awards of any kind may be given at the provincial championship

Team Photographer

There will be a professional photographer to take pictures. They would suggest you bringing team balls, mascots, etc. If you are unable to purchase action shots during the event, they will be posting the images on line for purchase.

Practice

The SHSAA has adopted a policy that does not allow for teams to practice at the host venue (s) during the Conference, Regional or Provincial tournament. There is no expectation for the host school to provide gym time for teams to practice upon arrival. To be fair to all teams the rule is: no visiting team may practice at the host venue(s) the day before or the day of the Conference, Regional or Provincial tournament.

  • Souvenirs

    Souvenir clothing will be made available through the SHSAA Boutique.  This will be supplied by "Sport Logo” Marketing according to our contract with them. This booth will be set up in the library during the event.

    Taco salad, individual chicken strips, pizza pretzels and sauce, pizza subs, chicken burgers, veggie trays, puffed wheat and popcorn balls, water, fruit drinks
