Dear Parents/Guardians:

RE: Water Leak Repairs and Boil Water Advisory- Monday September 30

We have been informed by the Village of Loon lake that there will be repairs to the water system on Tuesday October 30, starting at 9:30am. If everything goes according to plan the water should be back on by 1pm provided there are no difficulties with the repair. Following that there will be a boil water advisory in place until further notice.

What does this mean for the school?

When the water is off, our toilets do not work and there is no drinking water. We will continue to run school as normal provided the water does come back on as planned. If there are complications and there is no water for the remainder of the day, we may have to close the school. If this is the case, we would need to you to come pick up your child if they require transportation. As per Division Policy our buses will not be called in to run early, so that we do not having students taken home without parents knowing.

We can "fill the toilets" to some degree until the water comes back on. If this a concern for you or the timing of possibly having to come get your child(ren) midday doesn't work for you, you could choose to keep your child(ren) at home for the day.

What about the boil water advisory?

We have accommodations in place to deal with that. We have brought in water coolers and will have water available for students until the boil water advisory has been lifted. All we ask is that your child brings a refillable bottle to use with the coolers. All water fountains in the school will be shut off/covered Monday morning.

On Monday we will update our school Facebook Page and send out a Messenger message to anyone who was signed up from last year, when we know more.
