The Prairie Cup VEX Robotics Competition
Over the past several years, student robotics has become a popular method of teaching technical skills at the middle and high school level. Commonly structured as competitions, these programs encourage the design, assembly and programming of purpose built machines to achieve a particular objective. NCS has participated at sumobot competitions at Sask Polytechnic in Saskatoon and the Aerospace Museum in Calgary. We've entered robots into VEX Robotics competitions and SkillsCanada competitions. We are now proud to host the only VEX Robotics competition in Saskatchewan.
Neilburg Composite School will be hosting the The Prairie Cup VEX Robotics Competition on February 1-2, 2018 in the school gym.

This event is a qualifying event for both the Alberta and Saskatchewan provincial championships.
The high-school oriented program is based on a meccano-like system called VEX, which consists of structural components, motors, sensors and a programmable controller. Each year a challenge is issued, involving the manipulation of objects for points. Competitors have a few months to build their robots and then gather for competition.

Friday, February 1
4:00pm to 9:00pm MST - School is open for practice and for skills challenge rounds
Saturday, February 2
8:00am MST - School opens for practice and inspection
10:00am MST - Event Meeting for all participants
10:10am MST - Qualification matches begin
12:00pm MST - Lunch & Skills Challenge rounds
1:00pm MST - Qualification matches continue
2:00pm MST - Alliance selection
2:15pm MST - Playoff matches begin
3:00pm MST - Awards and a safe journey home
