DIVISION COUNSELLOR
Trish, our counsellor will be in the school every Monday and is available for any and all students.

Due to severe allergies among the students at NCS, the school requires that everyone avoid bringing any items with nut products, eggs that are not baked into an item or animals to the school. Our students' health depends on your cooperation. Thank you.
SCC NEWS

PARENTS OF NCS
The booth is up and running again this year with a few changes. Due to an accounting request by the Division we are only selling milk through milk cards. You can purchase them online at SchoolCash or at the school office. They are $10 per card and that gives the student 8 milk.
Unfortunately the vending machine is not working at this time. We hope to have it up and running as soon as possible. The booth is open every day at lunch time for students to purchase food items, drinks and snacks. Some of the items sold in the booth are subs, pizza pops, mini pizzas, KD cups, noodle cups, frozen treats, chips, granola bars, wagon wheels, pudding cups, juice boxes, water, along with many other treats. We have a few items for 25 cents and many items for 50 cents. All profits from the sales goes to the field trip accounts. Students from 5-12 are asked to take a turn working in the booth. The booth will be open until 12:15 every day.
SCHOOL MESSAGES
Parents PLEASE sign up for SchoolMessenger so that you receive messages from the school. This is the way we communicate important messages. Text to the number 724665 and then reply Yes and you will be set up to receive messages.
STUDENT ABSENCES Parents please notify the school if your child is going to be absent. Parents will receive an automated phone call for any unexcused absences. Call 306-823-4313
STUDENT FEES
You will be notified what student fees are owing if you have signed up for SchoolCash. We encourage parents to pay fees, buy milk cards, yearbooks, etc
through SchoolCash. If you are not signed up you can get instructions on how to do so by calling the school office.
The Terry Fox Walk/Run
On Friday, Sept. 27 our school will be taking part in our annual Terry Fox Walk. It will start around 2:20 p.m. Elementary students will receive forms if they want to collect pledges but there is no obligation to donate. Cheques should be made payable to The Terry Fox Foundation. Donations of $20 or more will automatically receive a tax receipt from the Foundation.
YOGA AND PAINTING CLUB
Welcome back, students! I am planning to run two after-school clubs:
1. Yoga Club: Who: Grade 1-4 When: 3:30-4:00 ( 30min, every Tuesday ) -The club will begin on the 10th of September and end on October 15th. What: Cosmic Kids Yoga (optionaL: bring your yoga mat)
2. Painting Club: Who: Grade 1-4 When: 3:30-4:30 ( 60min, every Thursday ) -The club will begin on the 12th of September and end on October 17th. What: Learn to paint like famous artists such as Leonardo DaVinci, Vincent Van Gogh and etc. Materials to bring: pencil, eraser, crayons, glue, scissors, oil pastels

Visual Art 10/20/30 Needs your HELP!!-Mrs. Kerr-Goodfellow
Good Day everyone the Visual Art 10,20, 30 class is creating a large weaving project that will involve students from grade K-12. We need colorful cloth, yarn or ribbon. If you have extra or are purging your home & have these items, please donate them to our class. Bring them to the school or call me, Mrs. Kerr-Goodfellow at the school (306)-823-4313 so we can make some arrangements.
Fine Arts 9 & P.A.A. 9 Need large cardboard boxes- Mrs. Kerr-Goodfellow
Fine Arts & P.A.A 9 are working on a design project that will be up & running just prior to Halloween. If you have large cardboard boxes from appliances, BBQs or that type of item, we would appreciate your cardboard donation. Please drop these boxes off at the school or contact me at school. S.R.C. $12 fee -Mrs. Kerr-Goodfellow
The grade 7-12 students pay a $12 fee to the Student Representative Council that allows us to pay for jerseys, referees, Sports events, Christmas dinner and speaker plus fun activities for the high school students. We would like the payment by Sept. 16.
COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Manitou Pioneer Museum is in the process of publishing a community directory (Little Blue Book) with the cell phone numbers and/or box numbers of community members. You can drop off your information at many of the Neilburg and Marsden businesses or you can email your information to littlebluebook@sasktel.net Each entry will have a chance to win a $50 gift card. Books will be available for sale at a later date.
BUSINESS ADVERTISEMENTS – PAID ADVERTISEMENTS
If your business would be interested in putting a paid advertisement in the school newsletter, please contact Cathy at the school (306-823-4313). The newsletters go out weekly (usually Wednesday). Any ads would have to be into the school by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The school email is ncs@nwsd.ca, the fax is 306-823-4403 or you can drop them off. The cost is $10 per advertisement per week. *As usual our community announcements will be published free of charge.
