S.R.C. New: Mrs. Kerr-Goodfellow

NO MAGAZINES being sold by NCS

The S.R.C. has decided to not participate in this year's QSP magazines. We'd like to thank everyone that has supported this initiative over the past years.

In lieu of magazine sales the SRC will be having several fund raising initiatives. Some of the ideas are more hat days, hot lunch sales plus a bottle drive.

Hat Day is every Friday

All hat day profits go to our foster child Hao Hao in China. The annual fee is $504. Two dollars is the fee to wear a hat on Friday. There are also $20 Hat day punch cards that are available on School cash on-line as well from the S.R.C. member who is collect the Friday hat funds. Any extra funds from Hat Day will be put to our other charitable activities for the year.

TERRY FOX WALK/RUN

The Terry Fox Walk was a success again this year raising $1316.  Congratulations to Brandt Forbes on winning the draw for the Terry Fox T-shirt.  Thanks to the staff at the Neilburg

Synergy Credit Union for providing and serving the refreshments after the walk.

Physical education builds physical literacy

A recent article in the Regina Leader-Post reminds us of the importance of physical education for building physical literacy.

Participating in phys ed:

  • teaches life skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork and leadership
  • builds physical literacy
  • develops a life-long love of physical activity
  • and more!

STUDENT FEES

Student fee notices are automatically sent to each parent when they sign up for SchoolCash online.  We encourage you to pay for them online but if you do not want to do that, please sign up anyway as that way you will get the notifications of student fees, hot lunches, new yearbook arrival, etc. etc.

Notices for unpaid fees will be sent out with the first report cards or at a parent's request.

** Students with outstanding school fees will not be allowed to take part in school trips whether curricular or extra-curricular (sports).

PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS                                                                                                               Report cards for grades 10-12 will be sent home on November 9th, for grade 1-9 on November 16th and for Kindergarten on the 29th.   Interviews will be held prior to report cards being sent home.  They will be on Tuesday, Nov. 6 and Thursday, Nov. 8 from 4:00-7:00 pm. Parents of elementary students are asked to call the school office at 306-823-4313 to set up an interview time that works for them. High School parents do not have to set up an appointment but can meet with the teachers when they become available as they have numerous teachers.  We ask that you keep interviews to 10-15 minutes per teacher so that everyone has an opportunity to meet with each teacher.  Please encourage your son or daughter to come to the interview with you.  Research shows that students who attend interviews with their parents "buy in" to the process more effectively.  This helps to make interviews more productive for the teachers, the parents and the student.

Once again the Prairie North Health Region will be offering flu immunizations to students and parents on one or both interview evenings from 4:00-7:00 pm.
