Please be advised that all exterior doors will be locked between the hours of 8:55 am and 3:15 pm with the exception of the main school doors. Visitors will be required to check in with the office. We are asking parents to drop off their children at the main doors if they are arriving late. Due to COVID-19, all visitors to the school are required to fill out the QR code posted at the main entrance before entering the school.

The School Newsletter will be published monthly and will be posted on the NCS website.

Requirement for Masks in School – Effective Friday, November 27, 2020

All Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 Students, Staff and Visitors MUST wear a mask at all times, except while eating or drinking.

Due to severe allergies amongst the students at NCS, the school requires that everyone avoid bringing any items with nut products, eggs that have not been baked into an item or animals to the school. Our students' health depends on your co-operation. Thank you.

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Student lead conferences will be held on March 23rd and 25th from 4 PM to 6:45 PM.  Sign-ups for interviews will be done by parents online.  The links to sign up will be sent in a letter home, on the Facebook page and on the NCS website.

Grad 2021 Quilted Wall Hanging Raffle

The 2021 Grad Class is currently doing a raffle for a beautiful wall hanging quilt.

Tickets prices are 1 for $2 or 3 for $5.  Tickets are available form any of the graduates or by calling the school. They are also available at the following businesses: Neilburg Co-op Grocery Store, Neilburg/Marsden Credit Union, Neilburg Library, Rutherford Agencies, Railway Confectionary and the Prairie Diner. The draw date is March 12. The graduates are thankful for your support!

SPRING JOY GREENHOUSE FUNDRAISER

Students will be selling planters and hanging pots again this spring. We will be supporting our local greenhouse, Spring Joy Greenhouse. More information will follow in April.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATIONS

Parents of children who will be 5 years of age on or before December 31, 2021, should be receiving registration forms in the mail before the end of this week. If you do not receive them or know of someone who should be registered, please call the school office at 306-823-4313. The form can also be downloaded from the NWSD.ca website under:

Please return the completed registration forms to the school by April 16, 2021.

ATTENTION ALL VISITORS AND STAFF

We are finding that many visitors (including parents) are ignoring protocols that include completing Visitor Contact Forms and sanitizing hands when visiting the school. All visitors are required to complete a form (on paper or online), sanitize hands and wear a mask when visiting the school for any reason and for any amount of time. The form can be found by scanning the QR Code found on the door at the main entrance.  (See below for the image of the sign found on the front door). Thank you for your cooperation.

Payment of student fees will now only be available through School Cash Online. Due to COVID-19, NCS is moving to a cashless purchasing program effective November 1, 2020. We cannot accept cash or cheques for payment after this date. Please call the school at 306-823-4313 for School Cash Online sign-up information.

SCHOOL MESSAGES

Parents PLEASE sign up for SchoolMessenger so that you receive messages from the school.  This is the way we communicate important messages.  Text to the number 724665 and then reply Yes and you will be set up to receive messages.

STUDENT ABSENCES                                                                                                                                                                  Parents please notify the school if your child is going to be absent.  Parents will receive a phone call for any unexcused absences. Please call or email the school for all absences. Email: ncs@nwsd.ca or call 306-823-4313.

BUSINESS ADVERTISEMENTS – PAID ADVERTISEMENTS                                                                                                              If your business would be interested in putting a paid advertisement in the school newsletter, please contact Cathy at the school (306-823-4313).  The newsletters go out weekly (usually Wednesday).  Any ads would have to be into the school by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.  The school email is ncs@nwsd.ca, the fax is 306-823-4403 or you can drop them off.  The cost is $10 per advertisement per week.  *As usual our community announcements will be published free of charge.
