A Message from The Vice-Principal- Wade Worman

NCS wrapped up 2022 with a very busy December. Our Sr. Boys' basketball season got underway, the SCC and SRC have been very busy creating great activities for our students. A holiday concert put on by our elementary students was a welcome return to pre-covid times.

The month started with a visit from Saskatchewan Roughrider Brett Lauther. His presentation was on  about resilience and titled, WIN WITH WELLNESS.  Our students gained some wisdom from his life experiences, and many got an autograph in the process.  Next, our local SCC helped to put on a school dance for our grade 7 to 12 students. The dance was a big success. Many of our students danced the night away to music provided by Maz Entertainment out of Lloydminster. Thanks so much to all who helped to set up, organize, work the booth or chaperone.

The second last week of the month was filled with fun outfits as the SRC put on a spirit week. From ugly sweaters to vacation clothes, it helped bring out the holiday spirit in our school. The SRC wasn't done there as they joined forces with the Neilburg Co-op to provide a holiday lunch on Dec. 21st. It was fantastic!

On December 20th our community came together to provide the students with a pancake breakfast. Special thanks to the Sawtells, Rutherford Agencies, Synergy Credit Union, Jim Lamb and various other community members who donated through the Co-op to help create this event for our students. Because the day of the breakfast saw a limited number of students at school due to the weather, we will be doing at least one more similar event in the future. Stay tuned for more details on that.

One more big thanks to the Synergy Credit Union who purchased new jerseys for our basketball team, which you can check out at any of their upcoming games (see the calendar above for dates).

In January, we can look forward to finishing up our 1st semester, the continued success of our Sr. Boys basketball team, and the celebration assembly on the 23rd. I hope everyone had a great break, and I am looking forward to many great things in 2023!

Your VP, Wade Worman

Christmas Concert 2022 – Miss Scheck

Neilburg School had an elementary K-6 Christmas concert on Dec. 15th at 7:00p.m. This year's theme was “Tracking Santa" where students had roles as field reporters, and news anchors that were tracking Santa Claus' current location and progress around the world. They were able to track his progress using their top secret Tracking Santa technology. It was a huge success with the play performed by grade six students and a few grade 4/5's. Each grade prepared a performance for the audience and spent time rehearsing and practicing for weeks for the big night.  Roughly 200 people showed up to the Christmas concert. Thank you to the grade 7's who spent time making props and helping backstage. Thank you to all who helped with setting out chairs and making sure everything went smoothly. Thank you to everyone who showed up for the Christmas concert! Merry Christmas!

Guests are welcome in our school!  If we aren't expecting you, please stop in the office and let someone know that you are here! Also let someone in the office know if you are picking up or dropping off your students outside the usual times.
