Please be advised that effective Monday, October 21, 2019, NCS will be locking all exterior doors between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:15 with the exception of the main school doors. Visitors will be required to check in with the school office. We are asking parents to drop off their children at the main doors if they are arriving late. This will bring us in line with best practices and with school division policy.
MILK WEEK
This week from Oct 15-22 will be milk week. Any student purchasing a milk can enter their name for a draw for many great prizes. Unfortunately, due to new accounting practices, we can only sell milk through milk cards. You can purchase milk cards at the office or on SchoolCash online. They are $10 each and are good for 8 milk.
BOOK FAIR β Cathy Ducherer- Librarian
The school library is hosting their annual Book Fair! The theme this year is Arctic Adventure. The school gets a percentage of sales to purchase new books for the library. The Book Fair is open to the public. You can stop in at the Book fair starting Oct. 28 through to Oct. 31. The Book Fair will also be open during parent teacher interviews on Oct 28 and 30 from 4-7 pm.

SCHOOL MESSAGES
Parents PLEASE sign up for SchoolMessenger so that you receive messages from the school. This is the way we communicate important messages. Text to the number 724665 and then reply Yes and you will be set up to receive messages.
STUDENT ABSENCES Parents please notify the school if your child is going to be absent. The school will no longer be using the automated phone call system. Parents will be receiving a phone call if their child is absent. Please call or email the school for all absences. Voice messages can also be left at the school. Call 306-823-4313
PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS Report cards for grades 10-12 will be sent home on November 7th and for grade 1-9 on November 15th. Interviews will be held prior to report cards being sent home. They will be on Monday, Oct. 28 and Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 4:00-7:00 pm. Parents of elementary students are asked to call the school office at 306-823-4313 to set up an interview time that works for them. High School parents do not have to set up an appointment but can meet with the teachers when they become available as they have numerous teachers. We ask that you keep interviews to 10-15 minutes per teacher so that everyone has an opportunity to meet with each teacher. Please encourage your son or daughter to come to the interview with you. Research shows that students who attend interviews with their parents "buy in" to the process more effectively. This helps to make interviews more productive for the teachers, the parents and the student.
Once again the Prairie North Health Region will be offering flu immunizations to students and parents on Oct. 30th from 4:00-7:00 pm.
STUDENT FEES
You will be notified what student fees are owing if you have signed up for SchoolCash. We encourage parents to pay fees, buy milk cards, yearbooks, etc through SchoolCash. If you are not signed up, you can get instructions on how to do so by calling the school office.
