ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

Date: Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Sara Goodfellow called meeting to order at 7:08 pm

Members Present: Sara Goodfellow, Ria Wiens, Charmaine Graham, Sarah Hein, Jill Walde, Bev Nattress, and Rachel Wightman.

School Representatives: Geoff McFarlan and Lisa Perkins

Minutes: Ria presented the minutes from the last AGM meeting, October 23, 2018 and moved to adopt as read. Seconded by Jill Walde

Financial Report: Charmaine Graham to give Financial Report during General Meeting to follow AGM.

Principal’s Report: Geoff Macfarlan shared update on the school’s new locked door policy, acknowledging all who enter the school. As of October 2019, NCS locked doors in effect during the hours of 9am-3:15pm, with the exception of front doors. Sign in/sign out visitor policy still being developed.

Old Business:

• Revision to NSCC by-laws continue to be tabled due to no copies found.

• Meet and Greet did not take place at the start of the 2019-2020 school year. Discussion to host a bbq in leiu of a meet and greet, possibly during Kindergarten orientation.

• Survey letter to NCS teachers for needs received no response but SCC continues to offer help when needed.

• Breakfast programs discussed at last AGM did not begin, but hot lunches from SCC and other groups are offered monthly.

New Business:

Appointing of new 2019-2020 Council (All positions are a 1 year term)

· Chair – Sara Goodfellow

· Vice Chair – Bev Nattress

· Secretary – Ria Wiens

· Treasurer – Charmaine Graham

· Principal – Mr Geoff MacFarlan

· Teacher Representative – Mrs. Lisa Perkins

· Marsden Representative – Charmaine Graham

· Student Representative – Reese Walde and Gus Wightman were named for consideration and asking.

Motion put forward that all positions remain the same as last year’s council, with the exception of Student Representatives to be added on upon discussion with students. Motion carried.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, October 22, 2020 @ 7 pm.
