GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

Date: Friday, November 22, 2019

Sara called meeting to order at 12:17pm

Members Present: Sarah Goodfellow, Ria Wiens, Jill Walde, Harriet Holmedal, Charmaine Graham, Bev Nattress and Rachel Wightman.

School Representatives: None

Student Representative: None

Welcome to Amanda Isaac – who is overseeing the esthetics and construction in entryway of NCS.

Minutes: Ria Wiens presented the minutes from the last meeting, October 22, 2019 and moved to adopt as read. Correction made regarding SCC Fundraising Acct: should read $1767.81. Seconded by Harriet Holmedal.

Financial Report: Charmaine Graham presented the financial report. Correction made as stated in Minutes read. Charmaine Graham moved to adopt as read. Seconded by Bev Nattress.

Principal’s Report: No school representative to give report.

Old Buisness:

• Update – Grade 7 students can join the SRC if they choose to.

• Adulting Day to be scheduled towards the end of the school year.

• Discussion on vinyl floor improvements have been tabled till wrecked and more discussion with Ashley Weinkaff can be done.

New Buisness:

• Amanda Isaac shared 3 options of shelving for the 4 walls in the entry way of school – Pipe shelving / wood shelving with brackets or wood shelving with cans. Pipe costs with labor and supply were estimated to be $700. Wood options estimated to be about $500.

Confirmation need to be made regarding school saying they would pay half the costs. Discussion and decision made by SCC to go with wood shelving with brackets and adding edging for displaying decor. Jill Walde moved to adopt the project have a time frame of completion by the end of January. Total Budget $1000.00 with the SCC giving Amanda creative freedom and Harriet $400 for greenery. All in favor. Carried.

• Sara Goodfellow proposed rotation of Hot Lunch list for the remaining of school year to include Grilled Cheese sandwiches, Subway, Pizza and Taco Salad. The addition of Neilburg Family restaurant to list if a menu of costs and interest can be arranged. Ria to discuss with Will and Sammi.

• Hot Lunch for December: Dec 6 – Pizza Dec 20 – SRC lunch

• Winter/Family Fun Night – Carnival activity/theme for every teacher’s classroom that will be participating. Hot dogs, hot chocolate provided. Dates suggested by SCC to NCS staff will be Monday, Jan 6 / Monday, Jan 13 and Wednesday, Jan 15.

Next Meeting: Monday, January 6, 2020 @ noon.
