RE: STF Job Action Update

Dear NWSD Families,

On Friday, February 23 the Saskatchewan Teacher's Federation (STF) announced sanctions for Monday, February 26.

1. There will be a one-day (24 hours) withdrawal of voluntary services PROVINCE-WIDE on Monday.

This means there will be no extra-curricular activities before school, at noon hour, or after school on Monday.

2. There will be a one-day withdrawal of noon-hour supervision for select school divisions – this includes Northwest School Division teachers – also on Monday.

This means there will be no classroom teachers supervising noon hours across NWSD on Monday, February 26. Supervision will be provided by non-teaching staff and/or parent/community members. If you are an approved volunteer, and can help with noon supervision on Monday, please contact your local school.

We are asking families, if possible, to arrange to have their children go home for noon hour on that day. Though supervision is being provided, it would be helpful to those who are filling the role to have fewer students than would typically stay for lunch on this day.

NWSD respects the collective bargaining process and continues to be hopeful for a resolution.
