Sloane Reid, Jonas Samson Middle School
Meet Sloane Reid, a Grade 6 student at Jonas Samson Middle School in Meadow Lake.
This summer, Sloane took on an impressive challenge, swimming 2 kilometres across Greig Lake. Along the way, she raised an incredible $300, which she generously donated to the Meadow Lake and District Humane Society.
Her donation will help provide food, veterinary care, medications, supplies and all the little things that help keep shelter animals safe, healthy and loved.
Sloane’s accomplishment is a wonderful example of compassion, courage and community spirit—and of the positive difference our students can make when they put their minds (and hearts!) to something.
