The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (LAFOIP) is a provincial statute that applies to all local authorities. A board of education (board) is defined as a local authority pursuant to section 2(f)(viii) of LAFOIP.
LAFOIP Requests
All information provided to individuals upon request must be done in accordance with the provisions of the:
- Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
- Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Regulations
All applications for the access to or disclosure of personal information pursuant to LAFOIP shall be made to the Privacy Officer and all inquiries about such applications shall be directed to the Privacy Officer by completing the LAFOIP Form (below):

NOTES:
- When a student turns the age of 25, their student records are destroyed. After this time, the only information available is attendance records and what school was attended.
- The school division is only permitted to give out the information based on the person requesting the information, no information can be given as to who classmates were or who the teacher may have been.
- Schools do not provide high school transcripts to students. Former students can order transcripts at Saskatchewan High School or Adult 12 Transcripts (Only Available Online).
