Superintendent of Student Services

Northwest School Division requires a permanent, full-time Superintendent of Student Services. The position will commence on August 1, 2025. 

The 4300 students are our focus with the Board's vision of "One Student at a Time" stressing the personal touch of this division.  Our school division has 22 schools in 15 active, caring communities that offer a wide range of amenities and recreational activities. You can enjoy the scenic outdoor activities of our lakes and lands in communities that boast numerous recreational, sport and cultural groups.  Our school division includes the City of Meadow Lake as well as communities close to Lloydminster, North Battleford, and Cold Lake.

The Superintendent of Student Services will work directly with the senior administration team to provide high quality educational programming and critical leadership to align with Northwest School Division’s goals and priorities.

The successful applicant will have completed the requirements for a Master of Education degree at a recognized university in a field related to the duties of an educational administrator, holds or meets the requirements to hold a Professional ‘A’ Teacher’s Certificate, has a minimum of two years teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level, have successful administrative or division leadership experience and be eligible for LEADS membership.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of various programs for students who require interventions and recommend changes and/or new or additional programs.
  • Possess a deep understanding of students with intensive needs and accompanying support
  • Show understanding of effective practices in establishing mental health and well-being programs.
  • Show evidence of superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have a strong orientation in leadership and show evidence of demonstrating a commitment to team building and working collaboratively within a school division
  • Demonstrate evidence of the ability to create a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environment built through positive relationships with students, staff, the Board, and local communities
