Did you know NWSD has an Inclusion Advocate?
In partnership with PACE - People Advocating for Children with Exceptionalities, a local Meadow Lake organization, families with students attending school in Meadow Lake can access the support of the Inclusion Advocate. This role is dedicated to supporting families of students with additional needs. Here's how they can help:
💬 Bridging Communication
The Inclusion Advocate works closely with families and schools, building relationships and ensuring that students’ strengths and needs are clearly understood by everyone involved.
🎯 Goal-Setting & Support
From meetings to follow-ups, they help families remove barriers, set meaningful goals, and work toward educational success for students.
🔗 Navigating Services
The Inclusion Advocate can provide clarity and help families understand the roles of professionals like speech-language pathologists or occupational therapists, and support families to work with various educational services.
🤝 Facilitating Relationships
By creating comfortable, collaborative connections between educators and families, they help ensure everyone is working toward the same goal: supporting the child’s unique journey.
📍 Available to families with students attending school in Meadow Lake.
This is just one of the ways we’re working to support children with additional needs in our community.
