Northwest School Division Appoints Jennifer Williamson as New Director of Education
The Northwest School Division is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Williamson as the new Director of Education, effective August 1, 2025.
With over 25 years of dedicated service in the education sector, Jennifer brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the needs of students, staff, and communities across the division. For the past 13 years, she has served as NWSD’s Deputy Director and Superintendent of Student Support Services, where she played a key role in advancing student success, supporting inclusive education, and fostering collaborative leadership.
Before joining senior administration, Jennifer was a respected school leader at St. Walburg School, where she served as Vice-Principal and later Principal. Throughout her career, she has been known for her commitment to creating positive learning environments and building strong relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners.
“Jennifer’s passion for public education, her collaborative leadership style, and her deep roots within our division make her an excellent choice to lead NWSD into the future,” said Barb Seymour, Chair of the NWSD Board of Education. “We are confident that under her guidance, NWSD will continue to thrive and meet the evolving needs of our students and communities.”
Jennifer is excited to work alongside NWSD’s dedicated team of educators and community partners to support student learning and well-being. What excites her most about the Director role is the opportunity to serve and advocate for students, families, and staff in ways that reflect and respond to the unique needs of each community within the division. She is passionate about building strong relationships, promoting innovation in teaching and learning, and ensuring every student has access to opportunities that help them thrive.
“I am honoured to take on the role of Director of Education,” said Williamson. “Northwest School Division is a place I am proud to call home. I look forward to working together to continue supporting student success. This new role presents exciting opportunities and challenges, and I am eager to build on the strong foundation we have established.”
Jennifer and her husband, Shane, reside in the St. Walburg area. Their two children, Kyra and Aidyn, are currently pursuing post-secondary studies at the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys reading, travelling, camping, going for walks in the country, and spending time with family.
The Board of Education extends its sincere congratulations to Jennifer Williamson and is confident her leadership will further NWSD’s commitment to “Laying the foundation of success... One student at a time.”
